Description
The Garth is a cottage that dates from the mid 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar and brick dressings, topped by a pantile roof. The building features a single ridge and two gable brick stacks, along with a rubble and brick plinth, flush ashlar quoins, and brick dentilated eaves. The cottage has three bays plus a single bay addition to the east and is a single storey. The central doorway is set within a slightly projecting 19th-century brick gabled porch and has a 20th-century half-glazed door. On either side of the door are single 2-light glazing bar sliding sash windows, with another similar window to the left. All openings are topped with segment brick heads.
