Description
The Island and outbuilding and garden wall is a cottage that was formerly two cottages and outbuildings, dating from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof featuring two gable brick stacks.
The south front is a single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. The central doorway has a 20th-century glazed door, flanked by two single 2-light casements, all set under wooden lintels. Above, there are two gabled dormers, each containing a 2-light casement.
On the east front, there is a 3-light casement to the left in the rubble gable wall. To the right, a two-storey brick cottage has three bays with a central doorway featuring a 19th-century plank door. To the left of this doorway is a single light 20th-century casement, and to the right is an enlarged 2-light 20th-century casement, with all these openings having segment brick-headed wedge lintels. Above, there are two 2-light 20th-century casements.
Beyond to the right is a single-storey former outbuilding made of coursed rubble, which has a 19th-century 3-light casement. Attached to the south is a coursed rubble garden wall with pantile coping.
