Description

6 and 8 Jubilee Street are a pair of cottages built around 1886. They are constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and feature slate roofs adorned with decorated ridge tiles. The cottages are single storey and consist of four bays. There are two central recessed doorways, which are now partially blocked by two-light casements topped with round-headed fanlights. These doorways are framed by moulded brick surrounds with ornately decorated imposts and are sheltered by a projecting hood with ornate barge-boarding.

On either side of the central doorways are single projecting gabled wings, each containing a single window set within a slightly projecting gabled panel. The windows are three-light round-headed designs, featuring circular tracery and set in moulded brick arches with ashlar side columns and ornately carved ashlar capitals. The gables are coped with ashlar and have ornate ashlar kneelers and finials, along with elaborately dentilated brick eaves. Each of the ornate ashlar kneelers is inscribed with a word, collectively reading "TEATOTAL HOUSES, VICTORIA JUBILEE".
