Description
No 2 Manor Street is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, which underwent restoration around 1870 and again in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a 20th-century pantile roof topped with a single white brick gable stack. The gables are coped with ashlar and include a single ashlar finial, along with ashlar quoins. The cottage is arranged in three bays and is 1½ stories high.
The doorway is slightly off-centre and features a plank door framed by late 17th-century ashlar jambs and a 19th-century rock-faced ashlar triangular head. On either side of the door are irregularly set 19th-century casement windows with three lights, each surrounded by triangular-headed rock-faced ashlar. Fragmentary remains of former mullion windows can still be seen in the wall. Above, there are two gable dormers, each with triangular-headed, two-light casements.
