5/40 Farmyard to the north of No 10 (The Manor House)

GV II

Farmyard. Early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with brick and ashlar dressings. Hipped Welsh slate roofs. Brick plinth and ashlar flush quoins. South front, with carriage house and stables to right, has projecting central bay, with large brick segment headed arch, and above a pediment containing a loft door with fanlight over and a semi-circular brick head. To the right a pair of double plank doors, and to the left 2 stable doors, all under segment brick heads. Beyond to the left are 3 ranges of farm buildings end on, with narrow crewyards between, each with a south entrance of brick gatepiers between the end walls. North front, has a large 2 storey barn to the right, with 5 continuous segment headed brick arches, that to the left has double plank doors. To the right is another smaller doorway, and beyond another carriage arch with double plank doors, both with segment brick heads. Above 2 loft doors, one at either end. To the left is another small crewyard, between lower ranges of buildings.
