ROWSTON MAIN STREET TF 05 NE (south side) 5/28 Rowston Manor (formerly listed as Manor 1.2.67 House) GV II*

House. 1741 with additions 1985. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Slate roof with ashlar coped gables, and 2 brick gable stacks. Flush ashlar quoins and a moulded wooden cornice. 2 storey plus attic. 7 bay. Central doorway with an 8-panel door, and a segmental hood supported on moulded brackets. Either side, 3 flush glazing bar sashes with ashlar wedge lintels, above 7 similar windows. Above again 3 dormer windows each with a 2-light casement. Two lead rain-water hoppers with an embossed lion and dated 1741. Interior: Contemporary single flight and half return staircase, with a straight moulded string, and thin bulbous balusters and a moulded handrail. 2 full panelled rooms, one with a pine fireplace on the ground floor and 2 partially panelled rooms on the upper floor.
