Description
The Old School is a school building dating from 1852. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with ashlar coped gables and kneelers. The building is single storey and consists of two bays. At the center, there is a projecting lateral stack with ashlar set-offs, which is topped by the remains of a circular brick stack. A small ashlar plaque inscribed 'National Schools 1852' is also present. On either side of the stack, there are single three-light wooden casements set in deeply recessed and chamfered brick surrounds with shallow pointed heads. At both ends of the building, there are projecting porches with ashlar coped gables and kneelers, each featuring a single plank door also in deeply recessed and chamfered brick surrounds with shallow pointed heads.
