Description

A pair of cottages, built in the early 18th century and the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings. A brick plinth is visible, and the roof is steeply pitched, covered with pantiles. It has a single gable and two brick ridge stacks. The cottages are single-story and have a four-window front. A central doorway is blocked and flanked by windows with wooden lintels. The outer windows, and a boarded door to the right-hand cottage (number 39), are set within segmental brick arches. The two windows to the left are horizontally-sliding sashes with two 4-pane lights; the windows to the right-hand cottage are matching casements.
