Description
No. 47 is a cottage located on Main Street, dating from the late 18th century. It is built from coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and features a pantile roof, which has two brick gable stacks. The building has flush stone quoins, a brick plinth, and brick dentil eaves. It is a three-bay structure, consisting of a single storey plus an attic. The central doorway has a half-glazed four-panel door and is flanked by single glazing bar sliding sashes, all of which have segment brick heads. Above the doorway are two raking dormers, each with two-light glazing bar sliding sashes. To the right of the main cottage, there is a single storey 20th-century shop extension, which is not of special interest.
