Description
High House is a late 18th-century house located on Scopwick Main Street. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar, featuring ashlar dressings. The roof is made of concrete tiles and has ashlar coped gables with kneelers, along with two rendered brick gable stacks. The building has an ashlar plinth, flush quoins, and a moulded eaves cornice. It has an L-plan layout and consists of three bays across two storeys plus an attic. The central doorway is framed by a wooden pilaster door surround that supports an open pediment, and it features a six-panel door with a fanlight. Flanking the doorway are single glazing bar sashes, with three similar sashes above, all topped with ashlar wedge lintels. Above these are two segment-topped dormers that contain small glazing bar sashes. Inside, there is a contemporary stick baluster staircase.
