Description
Nos 25 and 27 on Main Street are a pair of cottages that were originally a cottage and shop, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and brick, topped with a pantile roof that features two red brick ridge stacks. It is a single storey plus attic structure.
The off-centre doorway has a half-glazed four-panel door with a stone wedge lintel above it. To the right, there is another doorway that is now partially blocked, which has a two-light glazing bar sliding sash window under a wooden lintel. On the left side, there is a two-light glazing bar sliding sash window under a segment-headed stone wedge lintel. Beyond this, there is a brick addition that includes a three-light shop window under a brick segment head, along with a blocked doorway.
