Description
214 and 215 High Street is a pair of houses that have been converted into a shop. They were built in the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with stucco dressings and feature a slate roof. Notable architectural details include chamfered quoins, a first-floor band, and moulded cornices at the second floor and eaves, topped by a plain parapet. The structure has four storeys and two bays. The full-width shopfront, dating from the 20th century, includes a central doorway. Above the shopfront, there are two replica canted wooden bay windows with pediments. Further up, there are two glazing bar sash windows with pulvinated friezes and cornices, and above those, two smaller glazing bar sash windows with moulded architraves. The interior has not been inspected.
