Description
22 and 24 Melville Street is a pair of houses that have been converted into two shops and a house. They were built in the mid-19th century and are constructed of brick with an ashlar front and a slate roof featuring two side wall stacks. The building has a bracketed first floor sill band and rebated modillion eaves. It stands three storeys tall and consists of four bays. The full-width shopfront, added in the mid-20th century, includes a central splayed doorway. Above the shopfront, there are two small sash windows flanked by single larger sash windows, all of which have moulded architraves with cornices supported by brackets. On the upper level, there are again two small sashes flanked by single larger sashes, all featuring moulded surrounds. The interior has not been inspected.
