Description

The base of a Roman wall turret, dating from the 2nd century, is located in Lincoln. This structure has been consolidated in the mid-20th century and features square dressed stone facing with a rubble core. It is rectangular, measuring approximately 5 meters by 3 meters and stands about 1 meter high. This turret is one of several that were added to the defensive wall of the Colonia during alterations in the 2nd century. It is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County No. 17.
