Description

The DW Hotel Bar and Restaurant is a public house, now operating as a hotel and restaurant. It dates back to the 17th century, with a redesign in the 18th century and alterations in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and stucco, with a pantile roof and a ridge stack. It was likely originally timber-framed. A first-floor band and sprocketed modillion eaves are visible. It is two storeys and four bays wide. The main block features a late 19th-century shopfront with panelled pilasters and a cornice. A central doorway is blocked above a fanlight and is flanked by single basket arch windows with leaded toplights. To the left is a blocked, segment-headed door, now serving as a showcase. Above are two segment-headed sash windows. The north gable displays a principal rafter truss with the collar exposed. The interior has not been inspected.
