Description
The building at 73, 74, and 75 Bailgate consists of three houses built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick and have a hipped roof covered with artificial slate, topped by two brick ridge stacks. A plinth incorporates shoe scrapers, and bands mark the first and second floors. Each house is two storeys high and has three bays. The front doors are partly glazed fielded panels, each with a doorcase and overlight. The central doorcase features a hood, the left doorcase has consoles, and the right doorcase is pedimented. The windows are sashes. Above, there are two canted bay windows, and to the right, a two-storey square bay window with a gable and decorative timber framing. This window contains three-light casements on each floor. Above this is a near-central Diocletian window incorporating two small plain sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
