Description

A house, formerly a house and shop, with an adjoining bakery, dating to the 17th century, with alterations and additions around 1875. The building is constructed of timber framing and brick, with rendered elevations and a pantile roof, featuring a ridge stack. The Bailgate front has, to the left, a glazed corner doorway with a hood on brackets, alongside a shop window. A 19th-century wooden doorcase with overlight sits to the right of the doorway, accompanied by a plain sash window. Above are two plain sashes, and above those again, a segmental-headed dormer with a sliding sash.

The Westgate front has, to the right, a gable with a sham collar, arch braces, and a finial. To the left is a blocked doorway containing a showcase, and to the right a shop window. Above is a corniced square bay window flanked to the left by a plain sash. Above again, a segmental-headed casement is present.

The bakery, to the left, has moulded brick eaves. A three-light cross-mullioned window is situated centrally and is flanked by a doorway to the left and a pair of doors to the right, both with overlights. Above the window is a half-glazed loft door. The interior has not been inspected.
