Description

46 and 47 Bailgate are two houses built in the mid-18th century. They are constructed of brick, which is colourwashed, and feature a pantile roof with two gault brick gable stacks. The wooden gutter is supported on brackets. The buildings are two storeys high with attics and consist of two bays. The windows are segment-headed glazing bar sashes with moulded wooden surrounds. There is a central round-headed passage entrance, which is flanked by single fielded six-panel doors also in moulded surrounds. Beyond the entrance, there are single windows. On the upper floor, there are two windows, and above these, two segment-headed dormers with 20th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
