Description

This is a section of the north curtilage wall and the north-east bastion of a Roman settlement, dating from the late 3rd century to the mid 4th century. It is constructed from Spilsby sandstone rubble. The rubble core of the north-east bastion stands approximately 3 metres high and is built in the same style as a lower section of the curtilage wall that runs northwards, which is exposed for about 2 metres. This site is also scheduled as an Ancient Monument, No. 44.
