Description
The Jabberwock Book Shop is a house that has been converted into a shop with accommodation above. It was built around 1825, with mid-19th century and 20th century alterations. The building features red brick with some yellow brick in a chequered pattern and has a pantile roof with decorated eaves and gable stacks.
It has three storeys and a four-bay front. There is a through passage on the left with a semi-circular head and a plank door. To the right, there are two plain sash windows with segmental heads and 20th century blinds. Beyond this is a doorway with a pilastered doorcase and brackets that once supported a hood, which is no longer present. Above, there are two plain sashes with segmental heads and two smaller glazing bar sashes.
