Description
Southwell Sports and Leisure is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built in the early 19th century, with later alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick, with the ground floor finished in a colourwash and a pantile roof. It features chamfered eaves and a pedimented gable facing the street, along with a single stack on the side wall. The structure has two storeys plus attics and a two-window range. The first floor includes two glazing bar sash windows, and above them is a smaller sash window set in the gable. All these windows have rubbed brick heads. The shopfront, which dates from the late 19th century, spans the full width of the building and has a central half-glazed door flanked by single windows that were reglazed in the 20th century. A plain fascia cornice completes the shopfront.
