Description
Abbey National Office and The Pop Inn Cafe is a pair of shops with accommodation above, dating from the late 18th century and the 20th century. The building is constructed of colourwashed rendered brick and plain brick, topped with a pantile roof featuring tile coped gables, decorated eaves, gable stacks, and a single ridge stack. It has two storeys and an attic, with a five-bay front.
The right side has a 20th-century shop front made of plain brick, which includes a doorway to the right with an overlight and a glazed door, while the shop window to the left has a flattened ogee head and an entablature. On the left side, there is another 20th-century shop front with a colourwashed finish, featuring a central doorway with an overlight and glazing bars, leading to a deepset glazed door. This doorway is flanked by two shop windows, both with flattened ogee heads. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes to the left and a plain sash to the right, all with segmental heads. The building also has two flat-headed dormers above, with a sliding sash window to the right and a two-light casement window to the left.
