Description

A Roman wall is embedded in the clinic building on Manor House Street in Horncastle. This wall is part of the western boundary of a Roman military camp and dates from the late 3rd century to the mid 4th century. It is constructed of Spilsby sandstone rubble and measures approximately 2 meters high and 3 meters long. The wall is recognized as an Ancient Monument and is documented in Field and Hurst, pages 49-50.
