Description
The Manor House is a house built in the 17th century, with alterations around 1770 and further changes in the mid-19th century. It features a mix of red brick, limestone rubble, and ashlar at the rear. The roof is plain tiled with stone-coped gables and gable stacks, and the building is arranged in an L-shape.
It has two storeys and a garret, with a three-bay front that includes a central doorway. This doorway has an open pediment, a moulded doorcase, a fanlight, and a partially glazed door. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sash windows, and above are three plain sashes, all with wedge lintels.
To the left, there are two single-storey mid-19th century bays with two plain sashes. At the rear, there is a medieval wing, with the ground floor made of colourwashed, reused stone from a Roman wall, which has been raised in brick during the 18th century.
