Description

Spye Cottage and Rook Cottage are two cottages dating from the late 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. They are constructed with colourwashed render and colourwashed brick that encases mud and stud. The thatched roof is covered in pantiles and features overhanging, boarded eaves. The cottages are single storey with an attic and have a four-bay front. There is a doorway on the right with a wooden lintel and a partially glazed door. Three-light sliding sash windows with wooden lintels flank the doorway, and there is a 20th-century window to the left, also with a wooden lintel. Above, there is a single gabled dormer that has bargeboards, a finial, and a two-light sliding sash window.
