Description
The Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1700, with early 19th-century alterations. It features red brick construction with limestone ashlar dressings and has a slate roof with brick coped gables and kneelers, along with gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys with a five-bay front. The central doorway is highlighted by a first-floor band and has a rusticated ashlar surround, an emphatically angled keystone, a broken pediment, and partially glazed panelled doors. On either side of the doorway are single 19th-century canted bay windows, each containing three glazing bar sashes. Above, there are five glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. Inside, there is a painted 18th-century staircase featuring barley sugar bannisters and a moulded handrail.
