Description
The Thatched House is a cottage dating from the late 18th century, with later additions from the late 19th century and 20th century. It is constructed from mud and stud, encased in red brick from the 18th and 19th centuries, with some areas covered in colourwashed render. The cottage features a thatched roof with a single ridge and gable stacks, along with two eyebrow dormers that have 20th-century glazing bar casements.
The building is single storey with an attic and has a three-bay front. The doorway is off-center and is sheltered by a thatched porch supported by slender timber columns, leading to a panelled door. To the right of the doorway, there is a two-light sliding sash window set in 18th-century brick, featuring a wooden lintel. To the left of the doorway, there is a single three-light sliding sash window in 19th-century brick, which has a segmental head.
