Description
A pair of cottages dating to the 17th or early 18th century, altered in the early 19th century and extended in the 20th century. The cottages have a timber frame, colourwashed and rendered walls, and a thatched roof. They are single-storey with an attic.
The front of the cottages is nearly symmetrical, with each cottage having three bays. Each cottage has a half-glazed doorway, flanked by 20th-century metal-framed casement windows. Each cottage has a two-light gabled dormer in the attic: one positioned left of centre on the left cottage, and the other at the far right of the right cottage. The left-hand cottage has a ridge stack with two flues arranged cross-wise, while the right-hand cottage has a ridge stack with two flues arranged axially. A lean-to addition is at the left-hand end, featuring a stable door on the far right and a two-light window on the left. The right-hand gable end has a half-glazed doorway towards the right and a three-light casement window on the first floor.
The interior was not inspected. It is likely the building was originally a single 17th or early 18th century house, divided into two cottages in the early 19th century.
