Description

Lea Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with early 19th century and 20th century additions. It is constructed of red and white Flemish bond brick and features a thatched roof, likely over a timber frame. The building is a single storey with an attic.

The entrance front has a red brick plinth, above which is Flemish bond brick with white stretchers and red headers. At the centre, there is a cambered-headed doorway with a 20th century door. To the left of the doorway is a two-light casement window with a cambered head, both the window and the doorway head featuring alternating red and white brick voussoirs. To the left of this is a 19th century lean-to with a two-light casement window, also with a cambered head.

On the right gable end, there is a slightly projecting plinth with a rendered and colourwashed upper body. This side has a 20th century two-light casement window on the ground floor and another two-light casement window on the first floor. There is also a timber lean-to on this side.

The left gable end has a 19th century outshut on the ground floor with a pantile roof and a three-light metal-framed casement window. A central chimney stack is set near flush with the gable end and tapers to the top, with single-light casements on either side. At the rear, there is a two-light ground floor window near the centre, a 20th century brick gabled addition to the right, and a timber lean-to to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
