Description
No. 3 Halton Road is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick and rendered, featuring a concrete tiled roof, raised partly tumbled brick coped gables, and a single axial brick stack that was rebuilt in the 20th century. The house has a lobby entry plan and is two stories tall with a three-bay front that includes a plinth, end pilasters, and a central advanced bay. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight. To the left of the door is a canted bay window, while to the right is a plain sash window with a cambered head. On the first floor, there are three similar windows with flat heads. Inside, the house features angled fireplaces with 19th-century fittings and a 19th-century stick baluster staircase. The chimney stacks converge at attic level to form the axial stack.
