Description

Nos. 13 and 15 on Main Street are a house from the 18th or 19th century that has been divided into two properties. The building is made of red brick and features a plain tile roof with three ridge stacks and one end stack. It has an L-shaped plan, with the base positioned to the right away from the street. The house has two storeys and displays three windows that have been renewed and altered, some of which have cambered lintels. The central doorcase for No. 13, dating from around 1800, has a six-panelled door. On the right side, there is a 19th-century gabled porch for No. 15, which was relocated from another site and is dated 1819. There are two blocked windows and one partly blocked window, all with flat gauged brick lintels. The remaining doors and windows are from the 20th century. The rear features doors, casements, and outshuts, including a six-panelled door for No. 13 with a simple bracketed canopy from around 1800. Inside No. 13, there is a short 18th-century oak staircase with turned balusters and an 18th-century built-in cupboard with dentilled mouldings. The building is listed for its group value with the nearby school.
