Description
The Pochin School is an early 19th-century school building located in Barkby. It consists of two sections, both constructed of brick and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The right-hand section is two stories tall and features a doorway on the left, which contains a four-panelled door framed by a moulded wood architrave. To the right of the door are two three-light casement windows with cambered heads, and the upper level also has three-light casement windows. The building has a dentilled eaves cornice and an axial stack. The right-hand section serves as the main school room and is distinguished by five tall wood mullioned and transomed windows with cambered heads positioned between outer doorways. The building has a brick plinth and a dentilled eaves cornice, and the gables are finished with blue brick copings.
