Description
The farm buildings at Barkby Grange date from the late 19th century and are constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. They form two sides of a yard, with an additional range at right angles that includes a taller barn with a loft above. The left building features a coped gable and a round arched door situated between two steeply arched windows. To the right, the taller structure has a central steeply arched door beneath a coped gable, which leads to an upper entry accessed by an external staircase. This building also has a string-course and paired upper windows with yellow brick arched heads, along with a yellow brick dentilled eaves cornice.
Adjoining this taller building is the gable end of the courtyard range, which includes a stable and barn. The stable has a central door and outer windows, while the barn features double doors with outer diamond vents. At right angles to this range is a long single-storey structure that is buttressed and has various square-headed lights beneath the eaves, which have been renewed on the left side. On the right side, there is a segmentally arched opening and small triangular vents. The building displays blue and yellow brick bands and a nogged eaves cornice.
