Description

No. 144 on Main Street is a cottage dating from around 1840. It is constructed from slate and granite rubble stone, featuring red brick dressings and a thatched roof with red brick end stacks. The building has one and a half stories and includes two 2-light diamond-paned casement windows. There are two dormers located just below the eaves, and the windows have cambered lintels with Tudor hood moulds on the ground floor. The central door has three pointed arch panels and is topped by a thatched gabled hood. There is a 20th-century extension that has slate-hung walls, a Swithland slate roof, and a 2-light window on the end.
