Description
This is a cottage dating from 1718, located on Main Street, Swithland. It is constructed from slate and granite rubble stone, with a Swithland slate roof and red brick end stacks. The upper part of the cottage has been rebuilt. The front elevation features two 2-light windows with horizontal sliding sashes, and brick cambered lintels below. There are two hipped dormers above. A 2-light casement window with top lights is on the left end, and a door is on the right end. The gable ends show the single purlin roof structure. There is a 2-light window with a horizontal sliding sash, and a 20th-century 1-storey extension to the rear. A small slate tablet inscribed "JPE 1718" is displayed on the front of the cottage.
