Description

Rose Cottage is a cottage dated 1724. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with quoins and has coped gables. The roof is tiled, with stone and brick end stacks. The cottage has a two-unit plan and two storeys plus an attic. It originally had a two-window front, featuring tripartite sash windows with stone flat arches to the ground floor, and C20 casements to the first floor. A plank door, also with a stone flat arch, is located centrally. A datestone inscribed "1724/D/RM" is positioned at the centre of the first floor. A C20 gabled dormer has been added. The rear of the property features C19 three-light casements. A C19 one-storey extension is attached to the right side of the building. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
