Description

Home Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, with a range to the left having a lowered roof, and altered in the 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with quoins, and has coped gables. The roof is covered with stone-slate and 20th-century tile, with a moulded stone ridge and end stacks. The building follows an L-shaped plan and has two storeys plus an attic, with a two-window front range. The left side features a three-light mullioned window, and a 19th-century three-light casement within a 17th-century mullioned window opening to the right. A two-light mullioned window is above, with a single chamfered light in the attic. All mullioned windows have hood moulds and labels. A four-centred arched doorway has a six-panelled door set between the ground floor openings. To the right are two further two-light mullioned windows, with a door inserted into a mullioned window opening in the centre. First-floor windows are two- and three-light casements with stone flat arches. The rear has further two- and three-light mullioned windows. Inside, there are chamfered spine beams, 17th-century plank and moulded-muntin doors, and plain plank doors to both floors. An original staircase is partially blocked.
