Description
No. 127 on Main Street is a cottage dating from around 1850. It is constructed from slate and granite rubble stone, featuring a plinth and buff brick dressings, topped with a Swithland slate roof that has left projecting and rear wing end stacks. The building has a buff brick eaves cornice and shouldered coped gables, with the cornice curving around to form kneelers. The gable projects from a narrow front, while the full-width wing projects to the rear.
The cottage has two storeys with leaded light casements. The gable features one-light casements on the side at ground level and a three-light casement with a two-light casement above on the front. There are hood moulds above the windows. On the right side, there is a gabled porch with a Tudor arch, a glazed door, and stone detailing with an Earl's coronet above. A two-light casement is located above the porch. To the right, there is a 20th-century single-storey extension that includes a door, a one-light casement, and a three-light casement on the end.
