Description

This cottage, originally a pair of dwellings dating from around 1840, is situated on the south side of Main Street in Swithland. The building is constructed of slate and granite rubble stone with a plinth, grey buff brick dressings, and an eaves cornice. It has a Swithland slate roof with two central ridge stacks made of grey brick. The windows are 2-light diamond-paned casements with hood moulds on the ground floor. The ground floor features doors on either side of the windows, each with three pointed arch panels and a cambered lintel. Painted barge boards are present on the gable ends. A rear extension and outshut have been added.
