32, Main Street

No. 32 Main Street is a house, probably built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof, which appears to be an early 20th-century addition, with decorative projecting rafters. The house has a gable facing the street and is two storeys high, with a three-unit plan. There is one bay to the left of the doorway and two windows to the right. All ground floor openings have steeply cambered brick heads, and the windows are three-light horizontally sliding sashes. The upper windows are similar in style. A gabled dormer is located over the left-hand bay. The building has a sill band and a plinth. There is a stack on the right-hand gable and an axial stack behind the entry. A wing behind the left-hand bay is built on a granite plinth, which has a moulded brick band that rises over a blocked cellar opening. This wing also features steeply cambered heads on two three-light horizontally sliding sashes and single lights in the gable of the main range, along with a sill band and a brick stack.
