Description
No. 23 Raven Lane is a house built in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a plain tile roof, which has a steeper pitch on the right side. The house features a brick stack at the front.
The building is two stories tall with an attic and cellar on the left side, while the right side has three stories and a cellar. It has a three-window range: on the left, there are two 20th-century, 6/6 sash windows set in broad cases beneath gauged brick flat arches, and moulded brick eaves. There is a 19th-century gable dormer that contains two 20th-century casements, with plain lights on the sides, all under moulded wood eaves and a moulded pediment.
On the right side, there is an early 19th-century, 8/8 sash window under a segmental arch, with a 4/8 sash window above it. The entrance is located at the center and features a part-glazed 6-panel door with a mutilated hood supported by fluted consoles. To the left of the entrance are two 6/6 sash windows under gauged brick flat arches. To the right, there is a blocked opening and a late 19th-century, 3/3 sash window under a segmental arch, along with a 19th-century brick panel that has a corbelled return.
