Description
14 and 15 Raven Lane is a house, now divided into two houses, dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with plaster and a twin-gabled roof covered in plain tiles. The building stands three stories tall with a cellar and has a two-window range. The windows are 20th-century, three-light metal casements set within chevron-braced box framing. There is a jetty supported by three enriched consoles, with the outer pair being from the 20th century. Above the jetty are more three-light metal casements on a moulded plate, with cusped quarter-bracing and enriched consoles, along with a 20th-century figure on the gables.
The central entrances include, on the left, a 19th-century panelled door in a plain doorcase with a moulded architrave, and a canted bay window with glazing bars and a moulded sill. On the right is an early 19th-century part-glazed panelled door beneath a plain hood supported by moulded consoles and pilasters, alongside an 8/8 sash window with a moulded architrave. All these features are situated beneath a jetty with a restored bressummer on enriched consoles. The left side gable is plastered and returns to the side of the building. At the rear, there is a two-story wing with a plain tile roof and two brick lateral stacks, constructed of roughcast rubble.
