Description

The Green Farmhouse, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries with an addition from 1715, is constructed of red brick featuring a brick band, with some sections of slate and granite rubble stone walling and a plinth. It has a Swithland slate roof with stacks on the left side, rear wing end, and central ridge. The house is two storeys high, with the left gable wing marked with the date 1715 in its brickwork on the rear. The lower main range is built on crucks, which are partly visible.

The house has two further gables, with the right gable projecting. The left gable features a two-light casement window with top lights on both floors and in the attic. To the right of this gable is a two-light mullion and transom window. In the central gable, there is a porch with a door and a two-light casement window with top lights above, along with a three-light casement in the right gable and a two-light casement with top lights above it. Continuing to the right, there is a further two-light casement in the main range.

Further to the right, projecting forwards, is a stable made of slate and granite rubble stone with a corrugated roof, featuring a truss in the cross wall. The rear of the house includes a two-light casement in the projecting wing, with another two-light casement with top lights above it, and a similar window in the attic, with the date 1715 marked in bricks between. Other features include a modern door, 20th-century casements, and a small dormer to the left of the ridge stack. Inside, there are beams and an inglenook fireplace. The farmhouse has group value with the barn and Nos. 2 and 20 The Green.
