Description

The outbuilding located to the south-east of Hazelbarrow Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farm structure, originally a cowhouse, dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed from coursed squared coal measures sandstone and features coped gables and moulded kneelers, topped with an asbestos sheeted roof.

The building has two storeys and consists of four bays. The north-east elevation showcases an original central doorway with a quoined surround and a keyblock carved into the lintel. To the south-east, there is an inserted doorway with a plain surround. On the north-west side, two rectangular openings beneath plain stone lintels have been altered with 20th-century cross windows that include glazing bars. Additionally, there is a single taking-in doorway on the first floor and several ventilation slits.
