Description
Jordanthorpe House, formerly known as Jordanthorpe House Norton Lane, is a house that has been converted into flats. It dates from the mid-18th century and was remodeled in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof with two ridge stacks and two side wall coped stone stacks. It has quoins and moulded wooden eaves.
The house is two storeys plus attics and has a five-window range. The slightly projecting center has three 12-pane sash windows with stone surrounds and keystones. On either side of this center, there is a similar window set higher. Above, there is a pedimented dormer with a Diocletian window. The central entrance features a corniced doorcase with a half-glazed door, flanked by single 12-pane sash windows with stone surrounds and keystones. To the right, there is a similar window, and to the left, there are two similar windows, with a single light window to their right. The rear of the building has irregular fenestration, including a three-light stone mullioned window to the left and a 19th-century square wooden bay window to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
