Description

Dr Bland's Almshouses are a pair of almshouses built in 1910 for Dr Bland. They are constructed from brown brick with stone dressings and feature a hipped plain tile roof with overhanging bell canted eaves and external side wall stacks that have stone banding and cornices. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with an advanced, gabled central bay.

A wide stone segmental arch spans the full width of the central bay, which has a dentilled lower edge. Set back behind this arch are two original studded wooden doors, each with two small diamond-shaped lights. Above the arch is a flush stone plaque inscribed with 'Dr Bland's Almshouses. Erected 1910'. The bays on either side have a central 3-light chamfered mullion window with leaded lights. Above these, there are two similar 2-light windows on either side and a central 4-light window. In the gable above, there are four decorative stone diamonds. The almshouses were built as a pair, with Nos 115 and 117.
