Description
Okeover Almshouses are a pair of almshouses built between 1727 and 1730. They are constructed of brick with sandstone dressings and feature a plain tile hipped roof with two brick ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high.
On the north elevation, there are five bays, with the central bay being advanced and adorned with a pediment and rusticated angle pilasters. It has a stone eaves band, a cornice, and rusticated quoins. The central window, which was originally a doorway, has a Gibbs surround and is a glazing bar sash. On either side of this central window, there are two additional windows with moulded architraves and glazing bar sashes. Above, there are five smaller windows that are similar in style, though the glazing bars have been altered.
The south elevation consists of six bays, with the central two bays advanced. The ground floor features six glazing bar sashes with moulded stone architraves, while the upper floor has six similar but smaller windows.
