Description

The Okeover Arms is an early 19th-century public house located on Ashbourne Road in the parish of Mapleton. The building is primarily brick, with most of the exterior rendered, and has a plain tile roof with brick ridge and gable end stacks. It is laid out in a T-shape, with a lower brick rear wing. The main part of the building is three storeys high. The west elevation has three bays, plus a low, two-storey single-bay extension to the south. The ground floor features three glazing bar sash windows with projecting lintels and sills. A 20th-century window is present in the extension bay. Above, three similar glazing bar sash windows are visible, though the right-hand window is set higher. A 19th-century casement window is found on the first floor of the extension. The top floor has two smaller, similar glazing bar sash windows, alongside a smaller blind window to the right.
