Description
Two sets of inner and outer gate piers are located at the west end of St Chad's Drive, likely built around 1835 for the Beckett family. They are made of gritstone ashlar and are square in section. The inner pair stands approximately 4 meters high, while the outer pair is about 3 meters tall. Each pier features a moulded plinth, a rusticated shaft, an entablature with roundels, a cornice, and a banded ball finial. These piers may have been repositioned and are identical to one of the piers outside No. 151 Otley Road.
