Description
South Lodge on St Chad's Drive is a lodge house built around 1911, designed by G.W. Atkinson, who also designed the City of Leeds Training College. The building is constructed of red brick and features a slate hipped roof. It is two storeys tall and has a two-bay L-plan layout, with the entrance located at the angle of the two short wings. The entrance includes a four-panel door with an overlight, topped by a pitched roof and a round window with leaded panes above. The ground floor has eight-pane sash windows in flush wood frames, while the upper floor features six-pane sashes, all with splayed brick flat arches. The lodge has deep eaves and two large ridge stacks with oversailing collars. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
